Hi, I’m Lolade

I’m here to help you redefine your relationship with health and give you the mindset shifts, tools, support and accountability needed to get you back in the driver’s seat to your unique wellness journey .

About me

For so many women

Our fast-paced modern day lifestyles have led us to become more disconnected from our body than ever. Unprecedented levels of stress, poor nutrition, irregular sleep patterns and heightened toxic exposure has left us with chronic symptoms that we too often accept and normalise.

Western medicine has not been of much help in this regard as women are often left feeling unseen, unheard and even gaslighted, causing us to experience these symptoms for longer and driving even further key physiological imbalances.

When I realised just how much women continue to suffer due to a lack of understanding on how to support their body not just for prevention of illness but for optimal physical & mental health my mission became clear.

I firmly believe that food is the foundation to creating your best life.

I will work with you to reclaim the knowledge of your body and get to the root cause of your health concerns so that you feel your very best from the inside out and become more resilient to the realities of modern day living.

Getting to this point needn’t feel difficult or daunting. I’m here to help you do this in a manner that feels joyful, nourishing and honours your unique bio-individuality.

How can I help?

I use a functionality medicine approach to optimise how body systems and organs function leveraging the power of food as medicine

Gut health

The health of the entire body is dependent on a healthy gut and microbiome. Poor gut health can show up in surprising ways that go far beyond digestive symptoms. Energy levels, mental clarity, hormonal health and ‘problem’ skin are just a few to mention. We are not what we eat, we are what we absorb and thus supporting gut health will not only optimise digestion but also absorption of nutrients to support key processes in the body such as detoxification.

Hormone health

Chronic stress, unstable blood sugar, inflammation and nutritional deficiencies are just a few common drivers of hormonal imbalances in modern day women. I will work wiht you to get to the root cause of your hormonal imbalances to optimise hormonal health and live symptom-free.

Adrenal health

Our busy lifestyles can put significant pressure on the adrenal glands which are like two ice cream scoops sitting on top of our kidneys secreting our stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones send signals that allow our body to spring into action in times of ‘fight or flight. The demands of our current lifestyles however can mean that we are in a perpetual state of ‘fight or flight’ which can lead to adrenal fatigue/exhaustion. You may experience this as fatigue unresolved by sleep, increased food cravings, weight gain and a reduced ability to cope with stress.

Thyroid Health

The thyroid is like a thermostat and the master in energy metabolism. It regulates our hormones and can control everything from our mood, weight and body temperature. Chronic stress seriously impairs thyroid function.

Women who experience symptoms of low thyroid function such as hair loss, weight gain, low mood and fatigue amongst others are often told by their GP that their thyroid test results are in the ‘normal’ range based on NHS guidelines. As a Nutritional Therapist I work with optimal ranges and assess the full health of the thyroid with more comprehensive testing.

Metabolic health

Metabolic imbalance is a characteristic of our modern day lifestyles and maybe the largest single contributor to loss of a healthy lifespan. It contributes to obesity, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. High insulin/ insulin resistance is a key marker for underlying metabolic dysfunction which is at the heart of symptoms such as abdominal weight gain, high cholesterol, acne, fatty liver, fatigue and sugar cravings.

Functional testing

Functional testing offers further insight into your genetics, nutritional status and how well key systems & organs are functioning through various health markers. I offer expert interpretation of the results and use them alongside your case review to provide a more comprehensive picture of your health/body.

Health is not the absence of disease it is the ability to thrive physically and mentally in the midst of life’s daily stressors
